[personal profile] tree posting in [community profile] scully_fest
In the spirit of [livejournal.com profile] xf_is_love, [livejournal.com profile] wendelah1 and I chose nine Scully-centric episodes for a rewatch -- one for each day. The tenth episode, the one we watch on her birthday, will be chosen by the community, woo!

Here's the schedule:

(Some of these we're doing two-in-one to get the full story arc.)

1. Beyond the Sea -- 14th in your timezone
2. F. Emasculata -- 15th in your timezone
3. Wetwired -- 16th in your timezone
4. Unruhe -- 17th in your timezone
5. Redux / Redux II -- 18th in your timezone
6. Christmas Carol / Emily -- 19th in your timezone
7. Tithonus -- 20th in your timezone
8. Irresistible / Orison -- 21st in your timezone
9. Theef -- 22nd in your timezone
10. TBD by community vote! -- 23rd in your timezone

(Please note that your mods are almost at the opposite ends of the time zone spectrum and we had to pick a time that was accessible to both of us to do this. If you can't be around for the hour (or two) we've allocated to watch each day, please come play in the comments whenever you can. We'd still love to have you!)

About that TBD on the 23rd. We know we've left out some favourites, so we thought we'd let the community decide on the final episode. Go ahead. You tell us your favourite Scully-centric episode.

Leave each episode suggestion in a new comment, along with your reason why it rocks, the better to influence other voters, formatted as follows:

Season 3: Revelations

Why this should be watched: What's not to love? Stigmata! A possible saint! Scully the Protector!

Okay, so one vote for Revelations.

If you think we should watch Revelations too, comment on that comment to cast your vote.

[livejournal.com profile] her_new_day

Awesome idea! I love Revelations.

That makes two votes for Revelations.

Any questions? Reply to the first comment on this post and we'll get back to you.

Ep: Bad Blood
Why: Scully is silly and funny and awesome in that one and I love that you hear Scully's POV from her mouth.

Love Revelations, btw.

I'm always willing to watch "Bad Blood" again.

If I had 3 episodes I could bring to a desert island, it would be 1 of them. :)

Ep: Chinga
Why: Scully-centric paranormal sleuthing ftw. And Scully flexing her supernatural know-how muscles is priceless.

Oh noes. I love this episode too. No icon for it though so maybe I don't love it that much.

The first time I saw it, it wasn't my favorite but after the many rewatches, it's crept up the list. :)

Kevin is a great character plus I think I even have a fanfic to rec for it.

On the other hand, no icon for it.

Love that one, too. Every time Mulder doubts her being a possible saint, I'm like "Excuse you, Mulder. I'll forgive you because you're you."

I ALWAYS rec "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose." There are many reasons, because it's really the best ep, IMAO. (IMAO stands for "in my arrogant opinion.) Scully is magnificent in this: teasing Mulder, sympathizing with Clyde, and finally figuring it all out and going to the rescue! The ending is beyond poignant.

Oh my god, I want to vote for so many episodes D: But my first thought was Never Again, so I'm going with this one. ;)

I second Never Again. It's the mother of all Scully centric episodes. Mind you all the other ones are good too.

ETA: uh oh, just realised those rewatches will take place at 6am for me. Maybe the European lot could agree on an alternate time? Because in my experience when we did rewatches over at Into The Woods, people were put off from leaving comments when they turned up after a rewatch took place.

Just a thought.

Thanks tree, but after talking to Wen, I came to the conclusion that having two separate posts will only scatter things about too much. The simplest is to keep everything within one post, with maybe a different thread within it. I guess it will very much depend on who, and how many turn up.

Exercise in Futility

I'm sure this will be met with a great chirping of crickets, but Scully carried season 8 and 9, so I think it would be appropriate to do an episode from them.

I'd suggest either This is Not Happening or William.

Appropriate, yeah, but geez... I hate the way it all ended. Still, you have a sharp point.

I prefer to pretend nothing past season seven actually occurred. All 1013 did was shovel shit on Scully for the last two seasons. As if she hadn't suffered enough at their hands.

I have always had great respect for the writers who are obviously thinking "well, this part of canon sucks, let's just change it to something else." Fanfic gives people a chance to correct Chris Carter.

Never Again.

"It's my life, Mulder."

Pre-cancer arc, TATTOO!, Scully Gets Some. Gillian Anderson rocks this. Vote Never Again!!

INKGASM FTW!!!

Go on, vote Never Again, and we can argue once more on the infamous PANTYHOSE RIFT (okay, I just made the name up).

As Maidenjedi says: SCULLY GETS SOME (OH YES, SHE SO DOES! THERE'S A SCRIPT TO PROVE IT) WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED????

AND DESKS!!!

Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose if only for the tie in with this wonderful strip http://www.shaenon.com/monsteroftheweek/2013/07/26/07262013/

I'm ALWAYS up for watching Season 8 or 9 episodes. However...

I will throw another vote at Revelations because of the reasons already mentioned and because it really was one of the standouts on my last rewatch and that surprised me.

P.S. Sorry I don't have Scully icon for this.

Okay I'm changing my vote to Clyde Bruckman's because we do need a little levity. Plus I have discussed Never Again a thousand times already

I hear that. There are times when your own discussing just starts to disgust you.
